“Print and Mail – Deemed Safe”
March 19, 2020 –

Although nobody has flat out said “Paper and Mail are COVID-19 Free,” we’ve done our homework. We have stayed vigilant in protecting our employees and print customers. Ultimately, we want to be able to reassure our customers that paper is still safe. Currently, all the research shows that the Corona Virus or COVID-19 poses an extremely low risk of being transferred from paper, printed materials, or carboard boxes.

Dr. Shruti Gohil of the UC-Irvine Medical Hospital is a leading expert in preparing hospitals for COVID-19. Dr. Gohil stated that “If this virus had this capability of spreading so easily, through things like paper fomites, then you would expect this outbreak to be much, much, much worse than what we are seeing now.”

UPS, USPS, FEXEX, Amazon, and many restaurants are continuing to deliver to homes. If that part of our economy and industry shuts down, we will not recommend utilizing mail services. Until then, many leading marketing experts say that now is the time to continue your branding and messaging. Now is the time to utilize mail, when people are home! Many people have digital fatigue and are looking forward to checking the mail, then sanitizing, then reading their mail. Meet your clients where they are!

From an international perspective, our neighbors to the north have been clear in their messaging through the Canada Post. “When it comes to items in the mail, we can advise that the PHAC and the World Health Organization (WHO) continue to state that there is a very low risk regarding incoming mail items. We are in constant contact with our international partners and are continuing to safely accept international items.”

At Rengel Printing, not only do we have the best technology for the highest quality offset and digital printing in the area; we also know mail better than anyone. Your business can easily mail up to a 12” x 15” flat postcard or a 52-page catalog (up to ¾”) for as low as $0.17. Non-Profit Organizations can essentially cut that rate in half. If you call, email, or face-time with us, we’d be happy to help you choose the right routes for the demographic you’re trying to reach. Direct mail marketing is no longer just for the big corporations. We can also mail to your contact lists or we can use one of our B2B lists.

Lastly, in our research, we found the unofficial motto of the USPS. It’s inscribed in stone outside the main Post Office in New York City. It reads “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.”
